Chas (also called as Chas Narodi) is a village in Pune district, Maharashtra, India. It covers the area from Ghodegaon (Chinchawalee) to Kalambh on Pune Nashik road. This village falls under the Taluka name Ambegaon. Chas has its own natural beauty which beckons to all kinds of visitors.The river called Ghodnadi also flows from this village providing the water supply for farmers. This village is also connected by Dimbha Dam water canal. Agriculture is the main occupation of this village. The most commonly grown crop is Bajara and vegetables, such as potatoes, tomatoes, and onions, and they also produce fruits like grapes and bananas. This village falls to the foothill of Sahyadri Mountain range, which is toward the west side of Pune city. Pournima Utsav is the famous Indian festival of this village.Other functions include: Yatra, wrestling, Tamasha and numerous religious observances are held by various Mandals. Ganesh utsav, Navratra utsav are also celebrated with great enthusiasm. The village farmers have made their own image on the basis of their hard work. Bullock cart races are an inseparable part of this village which is very prominent throughout Pune district. On the bank of Ghod river DASHKRIYA VIDHHI of REDA OF Dnyanoba is takes place due to running of water in the south direction. so there is a famous temple of Dnyaneshwara. In the chas village there is a SANT DNYANESHWAR VIDHYALAYA which is awarded as BEST SCHOOL at state Level much n more times. also more films shootings like PAK PAK PAKAK are completed in chas.
